Celtic striker Johnny Kenny got a well-deserved call-up to the Republic of Ireland squad this week.
The FAI called Kenny after his superb Celtic form under Martin O’Neill after netting four goals in four games, including a goal in the Hoops’ 3-1 win over Rangers in the Premier Sports Cup.
Kenny was out in the wilderness at Celtic under Brendan Rodgers, but whatever O’Neill has said and done has worked as the youngster takes one big step towards his first cap for Ireland.
The Celtic striker has always been tipped for a bright international future and now, after the Irish FA released footage of Kenny in training, it appears that the young forward is certainly not lacking in confidence.

FAI’s impressive footage of Celtic striker Johnny Kenny
Kenny will be buzzing ahead of Ireland’s clash with Portugal and looking at how he’s performing in training, it would be hard to bet against the Celtic striker getting the nod to make an appearance.
Kenny is in good company alongside Celtic teammate Liam Scales and West Brom winger Mikey Johnston, so at least he can relax with some familiar faces in the squad.
The Celtic star is clearly impressing his Irish teammates and fans will be intrigued to see how he gets on against Cristiano Ronaldo and Co tonight.
