As of yet there has been no further progress on the Celtic quest to sign Adam Idah this summer, despite reports that the Bhoys will return to Norwich City with another bid.
The Scottish champions had an offer knocked back earlier in the summer and Idah has been involved in Norwich’s pre-season plans abroad preparing for the coming campaign.
Yet, it’s undeniable that he has one eye on Celtic. Sharing holiday snaps with Bhoys players and showing his love for the team after they beat Chelsea, Idah has not been shy on Instagram since the end of his loan spell.
His social media profiles still have him decked out in Celtic colours, too, another sign that he’s not quite ready to say goodbye to Glasgow for good.
All of this has captured the attention of many within the online Celtic support but it seems Idah’s former teammates are also noting his intent this summer.
Callum McGregor on Adam Idah’s online activity
Asked about Idah on social media, captain Callum McGregor said this week [Daily Record]: “He’s obviously sending his love on the back of last season and you saw his response after the Chelsea game. The social media games are there for everybody to see.
“He is certainly making all the right noises that he wants to come back and for us, he was a hugely important player in the second half of the season. If we can get him and it works for everybody we would be delighted to get him back.”
Also asked if Idah is still in the squad’s WhatsApp chat group, McGregor said: “I think he is. I don’t keep on top of stuff like that. I probably should.”

It’s clear Adam Idah wants Celtic move
In conjunction with apparent disciplinary issues on Norwich’s trips to Europe, it’s clear that Idah is making the point he wants to be playing in green and white, not canary yellow.
That gives Celtic the advantage in any future negotiations, although they do at some point need to come closer to the kind of fee Norwich want for the player given they have him on a long contract.
There’s a growing sense of ‘when’ not ‘if’ Idah makes the switch back north. For the sake of the Celtic squad, which currently lacks depth in attack, let’s hope it is sooner rather than later.
