Celtic are flying high after their recent showing in the Champions League.

Nothing is stopping this Brendan Rodger side, at the moment, not the second-best team in Scotland or the second-best team in Germany.

Over the weekend, Celtic smashed Aberdeen for six in the Scottish League Cup semi-final and showcased the gap between the top two in Scotland.

But they went one better on Tuesday night when Celtic produced a masterclass against RB Leipzig in the Champions League.

The levels are starting to rise with these players, with Nicolas Kuhn scoring a brace against his former club and Reo Hatate also finding the back of the net.

After the Bhoys were verbally battered and bruised for that Dortmund showing, it’s fair to say that they are now getting the deserved plaudits for the Leipzig performance.

Theo Walcott says Nicolas Kuhn is a ‘very gifted’ footballer after Celtic beat RB Leipzig

One of the players who is shining bright this season is Kuhn because he has been one of his side’s best players.

Theo Walcott knows a thing or two about flying down the wing in Europe’s elite competition and he likes what he sees from the German.

The former Arsenal player labelled the 24-year-old as a ‘very gifted’ footballer and thinks he can play anywhere across the forward line, as he told Match of the Day.

“Nicolas Kuhn, he is a player that had a youth career at Leipzig as well, so he has that fast energy and high intensity,” said Walcott.

“But not just that, it’s also his elegance on the ball as well. He is a very gifted footballer. When I say gifted, I feel he is a player who would be comfortable in any sort of position going forward, but not just that, he likes to do this sort of work here (defensive work). He wins the ball. He doesn’t just sit and watch the ball, he likes to get involved, calm and composed. Always on the move.”

Kuhn’s stats for Celtic this season

Celtic’s incredible recruitment has come to the fore again and the brains behind it all are proving why they are some of the best in the business.

Only this summer, Celtic lost Matt O’Riley to Brighton and a big hole was left in the middle of the park.

But it seems as though Kuhn has taken that mantel and now wants to become the main guy in that final third, with WhoScored rating his performances this season at 7.52.
