New Celtic signing, Adam Idah, has revealed that he’s been blown away by the fans since he signed from Norwich City on loan.
The 22-year-old striker has had a great start to his Celtic career and instantly endeared himself to the Hoops support with two coolly taken penalties against Hibs this month.
As Idah opened up on his time so far at Celtic, the youngster says the reception he has had from the supporters since moving to Glasgow is something he has never experienced before in his career.
Idah said [The Official Celtic FC Podcast], “I haven’t been out that much but for the times I’ve been out the fans have been great. And I’ve said in other interviews were just like on social media every single message I’ve got has been unbelievable.
“I’ve never really had up before. You do hear players that get bad comments, but no word of a lie, I have not got a single bad message.
“So to be fair to all the fans, they’ve been great with me. I just want to play at Celtic Park in front of them.”
Whilst the move was met with a lukewarm reception by the fans, most of the apathy surrounding Idah’s transfer was down to the fact that the supporters were disillusioned with the club’s transfer business and not by the player himself.
The Celtic supporters were expecting more signings than the two that they got considering Brendan Rodgers had done nothing but speak about making quality additions in the winter window.
Although it’s still early yet into Idah’s Celtic career, the Republic of Ireland striker has already shown some promise that he very well could be an inspired piece of business by Rodgers.
Whether or not this move will be made permanent is up to Idah. He’s clearly enjoying his time in Paradise and if he can get the goals that win Celtic the title, it will be very difficult for Rodgers to send him back to Norwich.
