Viljami Sinisalo refused to allow the Ibrox noise to take the shine off Celtic beating Rangers when the goalkeeper was asked his thoughts about the full time scenes.
Sinisalo produced another great performance as Celtic beat Rangers in a penalty shoot-out to reach the semi-final of the Scottish Cup.
And as the SFA investigate Rangers and Celtic, Sinisalo dodged the question about the Ibrox row and decided instead to heap well-deserved praise on his Hoops teammates.
How can we ensure that the Glasgow derby can continue having full allocations after the latest incident?
Viljami Sinisalo ignores Ibrox noise to focus on Celtic beating Rangers
The Celtic goalkeeper was asked his thoughts on the scenes at full time, but Sinisalo preferred to focus on the Hoops win after weeks of being told Rangers were the favourites to beat the Bhoys.
Sinisalo told Premier Sports, “Yeah, it’s a tough one. There’s a there’s no derby like it. There’s no derby like it. And listen, it’s not going to take away from what we’ve done here today.
“We’ve come here and beat them, we’re in the next round of the cup, so that’s the main thing we can we can focus on when it was such a hard fought victory.”
Sinisalo heaps praise on Celtic teammates for ‘playing for the badge’
Celtic have come through a tough run of four away fixtures unbeaten after winning at Stuttgart and Aberdeen, and drawing and beating Rangers.
And Sinisalo has praised the heart and desire of his Celtic teammates to get through them.
“I think it’s clear for everyone to see,” continued the Hoops hero, “I think everyone’s playing for the badge. Everyone’s showing a bit of heart.
“That’s the thing that’s getting said right before we go out, is show a bit of heart and desire. And I’m sure everyone can see that.
“As a player, it’s so pleasing to see there’s everyone’s making blocks, everyone’s working for each other. And the main thing is that we’ve been good teammates to each other.
“It’s not easy coming here, winning. It’s not been an easy season, we can’t hide away from that. But in times like that, you can be the best teammate you can ever be.
“So whatever that means for you individually, what you got to be, I’m 100% certain everyone was that today, and that’s why we’ve kind of got the result.”
Celtic fans can now look forward to a potential double-winning season, which is incredible to think about considering the backroom turmoil the club has gone through this year.
With the Scottish Cup firmly in Celtic’s sights, attention will now shift to the title run in where Hearts will now be hunted down in the final nine games of the season.
