Alexandro Bernabei has produced a moment of quality in Brazil, scoring a stunning 25-yard strike for Internacional against Corinthians in a clip that quickly gained traction online.

The former Celtic left-back, who struggled to make any sort of impact in Glasgow, drove forward before unleashing a powerful effort from distance that flew past the goalkeeper.

It showed a level of confidence rarely seen during his time in Scotland and how he has continued to love life back in South America.

Alexandro Bernabei’s goal the difference in Internacional win vs Corinthians

Internacional and Corinthians have both had indifferent starts to their league campaign and sit in the lower half of the table after 10 games.

Both teams needed something to inject life into their season and Bernabei did so with 78 minutes on the clock.

Bernabei advanced into space down the right before cutting inside onto his stronger foot, creating the angle for a shot from around 25 yards which gave the Corinthians goalkeeper no chance of saving it.

Alexandro Bernabei still loves Celtic despite struggles

There was plenty of hype around the full-back when he arrived from Lanus but sadly, he never hit the ground running.

He was expected to be the main replacement for Kieran Tierney but instead found himself playing second fiddle to Greg Taylor and only used sparingly, making 24 appearances in total.

Internacional came calling and promised Bernabei regular football but he admitted that the Hoops would always be in his heart after becoming the first Argentine to play for the club.

After sealing his exit, he wrote on social media: “I am proud to have been the first Argentine to join this beautiful club.
