Alexandro Bernabei has finally bid a permanent farewell to Celtic after joining Internacional.
The left-back signed an agreement to join Internacional following a loan stint in a deal believed to be worth around £5million to the Scottish Premiership leaders.
The Brazilian club had bid just shy of that fee initially but had it knocked back and that came despite sending their sporting director to Glasgow in a bid to seal the deal.
Bernabei was named in Serie A team of the year in Brazil last season and that prompted a number of clubs to sit up and take notice with the likes of Palmeiras also considering a swoop as well as Euro outfits.
Brazilian media were left unsure of Bernabei’s future but he did finally get his move after admitting he had struggled in Scottish football where he made just 28 appearances in three seasons.
The defender, 24, spoke on his Internacional switch earlier this week after it was confirmed.
However, now he has taken more of a personal approach on his Instagram page as he posted a direct message to Celtic fans for their support during his time in Glasgow.
Bernabei acknowledged that he might not have played for the club as often as he might have liked, but he promised he would have the Hoops “in his heart” always as he built a bond there even in his short stint.

Taking to social media the Argentinian international hopeful wrote: “I am proud to have been the first Argentine to join this beautiful club.
“I want to thank the entire coaching staff and all the people at the club for the beautiful year and a half I spent at @celtic. Thanks to the Celtic fans for the support they have given me during my stay.
“It was a pleasure to be part of this great club and experience unforgettable moments at the Celtic Park stadium.
“I will always carry Celtic in my heart. thanks for everything.”
