Celtic’s win over Manchester City on the US Tour really grabbed the headlines yesterday as Brendan Rodgers keeps his winning run going in the States.

The Celtic boss watched his side score four goals for the second time on the tour as they beat a Man City team who have just begun their pre-season schedule.

A double from Man-of-the-Match Nicolas Kuhn and goals from Kyogo Furuhashi and Luis Palma consigned Pep Guardiola’s side to a defeat.

Celtic looked sharp and crisp in the game and gave the fans a lot to talk about but so will this moment that was shared between captain, Callum McGregor, and Man City’s £100m winger, Jack Grealish.

Prior to the players taking to the field, cameras caught a special moment being shared by McGregor and Grealish and it is clear the two have a great mutual respect.

In the clip you can hear McGregor say, “It’s good to see you” and Grealish replies with, “Thank you, brother” as both players catch up for the first time in years.

McGregor and Grealish are former teammates from when they both shared a loan spell at Notts County in 2013.

The Celtic captain made the move to the English League One side for an initial five months when Neil Lennon was at the club and scored on his debut in the 3-2 League Cup win against Fleetwood Town.

His temporary stay was extended to the end of the season and went on to make 41 appearances for the club becoming their top goalscorer with 14 goals which helped save them from relegation.

Grealish made 37 appearances that season with five goals and seven assists and, clearly from that clip, being in the trenches with the Celtic captain fighting relegation has created a special bond between the two which is still strong over ten years later.
