Celtic will face either Bayern Munich or Real Madrid in the Champions League playoff tie next month.

Celtic finished in 21st place in the final Champions League standings after a battling display saw the Bhoys lose to Aston Villa but still earn another tasty draw and Celtic Park fixture in the next round of the competition.

With either Bayern Munich or Real Madrid up next, Alan Shearer explains what he’s always felt about Celtic and has sent a Parkhead warning to the Bundesliga and the current Champions League holders, Madrid.

Alan Shearer warns Bayern Munich & Real Madrid about ‘tough’ Celtic Park atmosphere

Celtic have faced both clubs in Europe’s elite competition before but after seeing the Celtic Park atmosphere in this season’s competition, Shearer reckons Bayern and Real will find it tough in Glasgow.

Shearer told The Rest Is Football [25m 35s], “I think this is, certainly Celtic are one of the clubs that will benefit from this new format because I always felt that they could get into a playoff.

“And with that crowd and with the way it is up at Celtic, then it will be whoever is going to draw them, it will be a tough game for them, particularly there.”
