Celtic beat Young Boys to progress in this season’s Champions League.

A Loris Benito own goal sealed the win after Celtic duo Reo Hatate and Adam Idah combined to force the error from the Young Boys captain and send the Celtic fans home delighted.

For the Swiss champions, the goal made sure Young Boys continued their winless run in the Champions League whilst allowing Celtic to dream of a top-eight finish.

However, despite the disappointment of losing to Celtic, Benito praised the supporters for giving him an experience that not only will he never forget, but was also a career-first for the Swiss international centre-back.

‘Incredible’ Celtic fans lauded by Young Boys’ Loris Benito

Celtic fans are famous all over Europe for creating a cauldron inside Parkhead just before a Champions League kick-off.

And recalling the atmosphere, Benito said the atmosphere inside the iconic stadium gave him ‘goosebumps’.

Benito told Blick, “Incredible! I’ve never experienced anything like it. The Champions League anthem alone gives you goosebumps.

“But the atmosphere here tops that by a lot. Probably one of the best experiences I’ve had in football.”

Swiss media left speechless on TikTok by what Celtic fans did vs Young Boys

Not only was the Young Boys captain left in awe, but it seems the Swiss media were seriously impressed as outlet, SRF Sport, posted the footage on their TikTok channel.

The media channel said, “Just be quiet and listen as before every Celtic home game, the Scottish fans will sing ‘You’ll never walk alone’ together before the game against YB.”
