Celtic laid a marker on Aberdeen on Saturday in the League Cup semi-final at Hampden.

Brendan Rodgers masterminded Celtic’s dismantling of Aberdeen in a performance that raised many eyebrows across all of Scottish football.

Celtic will now face Rangers after the Ibrox club beat Motherwell on Sunday but it was what Rodgers did the day before that has given Alan Hutton the fear about the upcoming December final.

Brendan Rodgers’ rage is an ‘absolute worry’ for Rangers ahead of Celtic final

Analysing both games Hutton said that watching Brendan Rodgers on the touchline has convinced him Rangers should be nervous about facing Celtic in the League Cup final.

Hutton told The Scottish Football Social Club, “It’s a worry. It’s an absolute worry. It was a statement. Me and Michael were talking about it yesterday just before the Rangers game and that’s exactly what I felt it was.

“The two-all game at Celtic Park and just seeing Brendan Rodgers the way he was, how frustrated he was when they were up 3-0 and he looked like the most frustrated man in the stadium.

“I just felt that he wanted to show everybody that we are the main attraction in town, yes you have done well in the league, but we are the top dogs and this is why.

“So it was some performance to be fair.”

The German club are desperate for a Celtic Park win after losing their opening three games in the tournament.

Currently sitting second in the Bundesliga, Celtic have a big task ahead of them if they want to beat Leipzig but if they did, it would not just be huge in terms of their Champions League stature.

Beating one of the best teams in the competition will only add to the fear Hutton is feeling and deal a huge psychological blow to not just Rangers, but also Aberdeen who just saw what it is really like to feel the full force of Celtic at Hampden at the weekend.
