Young Celtic striker Callum Osmand has taken to Instagram to tell of his ‘devastation’ at his injury against FC Midtjylland in the Europa League.

Osmand had captured the imagination of the Celtic support after he scored his first-ever goal in the Bhoys’ win over Rangers in the Premier Sports Cup.

The former Fulham striker was then added to Celtic’s Europa League squad as he impressed interim Hoops boss Martin O’Neill.

And in Celtic’s defeat to Midtjylland, Osmand suffered a hamstring injury that is sure to keep him out for a prolonged period of time.

And taking to social media, Osmand issued a defiant message to the Celtic support as his teammates rally round the young striker.

Callum Osmand’s headstrong injury message to the Celtic supporters

Whilst Osmand looked devastated leaving the field of play, the young Celtic striker remains positive despite the hamstring injury setback.

Taking to Instagram, Osmand said, “Devastated. Whirlwind week from the highest of highs to the lowest of lows. Heartbroken at the timing of this injury as I just began to get going.

“Grateful for all of the people around me and really really appreciate the messages from everyone.

“Like I said earlier in the week, it’s just the start for me and I will be back stronger with something to prove.”

It’s great to see the young man not letting the injury get him down and it seems like the supportive words of Celtic boss Martin O’Neill have helped.

Paulo Bernardo replied, “💪💚” as Celtic midfielder Arne Engels simply put, “😢🦾”.

Benjamin Nygren got in on the act and posted, “💪🏼❤️” and even Jahmai Simpson-Pusey sent Osmand, “❤️🙏🏽”.

The post was also liked by Alistair Johnston, Dane Murray, Stephen Welsh, Daizen Maeda and Michel-Ange Balikwisha as Celtic stars rushed to offer support to Osmand.
