Kjetil Knutsen is one of the many names to have been linked with Celtic in the past 48 hours.

Yesterday, it was reported that Knutsen is “under consideration” by the Celtic board.

No other information was shared by STV. So all we really know is that the key decision makers at Celtic Park are aware of Knutsen.

And so they should be. His Bodo/Glimt side left us battered and bruised in a 5-1 Europa Conference League aggregate win last year.

Prior to the tie, Knutsen had some things to say about Celtic and some key personnel. We covered them at the time but let’s just take a look back.

The Norwegian revealed that he had already sampled the famous Celtic Park atmosphere, saying: “Hopefully, we will play in a full stadium. I have been here once before and the fans are really amazing.

“Celtic are similar to us. They are an attacking team and attack with two engines. One on the left side with Taylor, Hatate and Jota with a lot of rotation and penetration. They do the same on the right side with Juranovic, Rogic and Abada.

“They also have the captain McGregor, who gives balance to the team and can switch the play from side to side. He is really good.

“For me they are a team, like us, and the manager and his team have done a great job as they started coaching this side from the summer. They have really developed.”

So Knutsen knew a lot about Celtic and that showed over the 180 minutes in Glasgow and Bodo.

It is not quite clear when he first ventured to Celtic Park. His playing or managerial career doesn’t seem to have taken him to Glasgow so perhaps it was a leisure visit.

It is, however, great to hear him describing us as “amazing”. Few would disagree.

Anyway, plenty of you seem keen to see him installed as Ange Postecoglou’s replacement.

Our tweet about yesterday’s news that he was being considered has received over 1500 likes and hundreds of comments.

The reality may be a little bit different. As we covered earlier, Knutsen has been addressing his future amid some links to Ajax.

It doesn’t seem like he’d be easy to prise away from Bodo/Glimt at this juncture.
