Conflicting reports suggest no one really knows what’s going on with Celtic and Michel-Ange Balikwisha

The Michel-Ange Balikwisha to Celtic story appears to be a long-running transfer saga.

Balikwisha appears to have been on Celtic’s radar for what seems like an age ever since reports suggested Brendan Rodgers wanted him over a year ago.

Since then, it’s been rumour after rumour and as the Celtic rumour resurfaced three months ago, the speculation has ramped up.

However, over the last 24 hours there have been conflicting reports on whether or not Celtic are interested in Balikwisha and it’s now getting rather tedious.

Celtic to ‘push button’ on Michel-Ange Balikwisha despite agent admission

The Daily Record have had two reports out in the last 24 hours regarding Celtic’s interest in Balikwisha.

Last night, Balikwisha’s agent spoke to the Daily Record and confirmed that Celtic are yet to make an approach to Royal Antwerp for the winger.

However, this morning the same news outlet then released another report as the Daily Record claimed Celtic are about to push ahead and get a deal done for the young Belgian.

The confusing part? Despite Balikwisha’s agent saying the Hoops haven’t approached the Belgians, the report this morning claims that Antwerp have been ‘holding out’ despite Celtic being locked in talks with them since the 13th of July.

This transfer saga has a bit of the Mathias Kvistgaarden vibes about it. Plenty of headlines, plenty of speculation but no real substance.

The fact that one news outlet can have two differing reports in such a short space of time tells fans one thing.

No one knows what’s going on with the transfer deal and it seems that the more Celtic fans read about Balikwisha, it seems that this could be a deal that may never happen.
