Luis Palma leaves Celtic on-loan as the winger looks to kick-start his career away from Parkhead.

Palma returned to Glasgow after the Celtic winger’s spell at Olympiacos ended with a league title but barely any minutes on the pitch.

The Honduran has been in good form for his country, after the Celtic winger sparkled in the Gold Cup for Honduras.

And now that Palma is officially at Lech Poznan for a year-long loan, the Celtic forward and the Polish club’s sporting director have opened up on why the move was completed.

Lech Poznan sporting director impressed with Luis Palma’s ‘excellent goals’ for Celtic

Lech Poznan sporting director Tomasz Rząsa has been impressed with Palma and reveals what he did for Celtic in the Champions League motivated him to make the loan move happen.

Rząsa told Lech Poznan’s official website, “Luis Palma has been loaned to us from Scottish side Celtic for a year, with an option to buy.

“This is also our response to the health issues that have arisen within the team. We wanted to acquire a player who brings tremendous quality and is a perfect fit for us in terms of his profile.

“He has considerable international experience and has excellent goals and assists in both Greece and Scotland. He scored goals for Celtic in the Champions League.

“Now it’s important to integrate him into our team as quickly as possible.”

Luis Palma explains Celtic exit to Lech Poznan

As for Palma, it seems clear he has no future at Celtic after being sent out on loan for the second time in as many years.

And here, the Hoops winger shares the real reason he decided to switch Scotland for Poland.

Palma said, “I’m very happy to be here because Lech is a great club. I really want to work hard and give my best.

“Above all, I’m here because of the goals and challenges my new club sets for itself. I want to help achieve them.

“Of course, I came to share the experience I have from playing at Champions League level. I’m hoping for a successful campaign. I don’t know Poland, but I really like the city.”
