The Celtic board are coming under even more intense pressure after the Premier Sports Cup final defeat to St Mirren.

Stephen Robinson’s side fully deserved their win as St Mirren’s bullish performance embarrassed Celtic inside Hampden on Sunday afternoon.

Wilfried Nancy’s position at Celtic now comes under scrutiny after the new Hoops boss has seen his side score just one goal in three defeats and the cup final defeat could be the final straw for many.

Who is to blame for the recent run of results? Tell us why you voted for that choice

As for the Celtic board, the vast majority of fans have already written them off and it’s clear what the Parkhead executives think of them after what they organised outside the stadium after the final whistle blew at Hampden.

The huge Celtic Park police presence after Premier Sports Cup final defeat

Celtic fans, and the board, are used to having a winner’s podium organised outside Parkhead whenever they are in a final over the years.

However, this time, the board organised something else on The Celtic Way and it’s not a good look for the Parkhead executives.

The Celtic Trust’s Jeanette Findlay shared a picture on X and said, “Imagine being a director of Celtic PLC and being so completely incapable of owning your own failure or facing your own fans that you have to have these outside the ground to protect you – and from what? The truth!”

11 police officers (just from this picture alone), including the fencing plus the fact that there were no Celtic fans present, just shows what the board thinks about what they were expecting from fans.

And if any Celtic supporter is in doubt about who is to blame for the shambles they are currently watching unfold before them:

Celtic’s next fixture is crucial for Nancy, and it’s not an easy one

Nancy came in at Celtic knowing he had three difficult games to tackle in his first week in the job.

Is this the end for Wilfried Nancy?

Defeats to Hearts, Roma and St Mirren pile the pressure on Nancy and Celtic’s next fixture will fill fans with dread.

A trip to Tannadice to face Dundee United awaits the Celtic boss and anything less than a comfortable win will not be accepted by a support who are running out of patience with the Frenchman.
