All the talk today seems to be now of Celtic and possible transfer incomings as Brendan Rodgers looks to bolster the team ahead of the new season and the next Champions League campaign.

The Celtic boss seems to be ramping up activity now that Kasper Schmeichel looks set to join the club and that there is reported interest in signing Aston Villa goalkeeper, Viljami Sinisalo.

With Celtic also said to be looking at Michel-Ange Balikwisha, it’s clear Rodgers is recruiting with next season’s Champions League campaign in mind.

If Rodgers wants to continue to improve on last season’s, and from the seasons before, then quality players will be needed.

But as far as Celtic’s history in the competition goes, how does the Parkhead side fare in comparison to other elite European teams in terms of all-time goalscoring?

Celtic outrank Man City and Rangers in all-time goals scored

You would think that with Celtic’s recent history in the competition, the club would rank lower than many other teams across Europe.

It seems that that is not the case as the Parkhead club ranks higher than many of Europe’s footballing superpowers.

Celtic also ranks higher than the likes of Lyon (232) former Champions League winners Marseille (163) and Feyenoord (156) and cash-rich Monaco (185).

With the new Champions League format set to take place next season, Brendan Rodgers will be hoping that Celtic will rack up more goals, and points, in a bid to make the last 16 for the first time since 2013.
