The chips are starting to fall in the transfer market for Celtic as Brendan Rodgers seeks to add power and quality across his forward line.
Yesterday, Hyeongyu Oh left for Genk after spending 18 months at Parkhead, leaving a gap to be filled in the Hoops’ forward line, which has been subject to much discussion.
Kyogo Furuhashi is the only recognised striker on the books at Celtic. Meanwhile, with that in mind, talks are ongoing over a swoop for Norwich City’s Adam Idah following his excellent loan spell last term.
There is an acknowledgement among the fanbase that a quality wideman or two may also be required to provide flair on the offensive front.
Rodgers will be keen for business to occur before the Bhoys head Stateside for their three-match tour of the United States. Failing that, he’ll try to solicit arrivals before his side’s Scottish Premiership opener against Kilmarnock on August 4th.

According to new information, Celtic are on the hunt for another forward who could provide the guile in the final third he so desires.
Celtic interested in Royal Antwerp’s Michel-Ange Balikwisha
Taking to social media platform X, journalist Sacha Tavolieri has indicated that Celtic have held dialogue with Royal Antwerp to explore the potential of a swoop for attacker Michel-Ange Balikwisha.
He stated: “#CelticFC attracted by Royal #Antwerp FC’s Michel-Ange Balikwisha! The Scottish club entered into discussions with player’s entourage to explore the possibility of a deal this summer as there’s a confirmed interest for Balikwisha’s profile. Clubs should have a talk this week to make some progress on the case. Wait & See….”
Per Transfermarkt, the Gent-born man made 44 appearances for Antwerp last term, registering ten goals and eight assists.
Predominantly a left winger, the 23-year-old can operate off either flank or as a foil to the main striker if needed.
Celtic can never have too many talented assets capable of scoring or creating in their hunt for more silverware. In the Scottish Premiership, Rodgers’ men are routinely charged with breaking down packed defences, which requires a certain level of intuition that Balikwisha appears to have in abundance.
With the transfer window now heating up, news of interest in the former Belgium Under-21 international could be a promising sign of what is to come.
