Wilfried Nancy has been given his marching orders by Celtic in what will go down as a forgettable era in the club’s history.

Nancy was dismissed by Celtic along with Paul Tisdale after a miserable run that saw him lose six of his eight games in charge.

That has allowed Hearts to open a six-point lead and for Rangers to move level on points with the Hoops.

Defeat against Rangers was the final straw, and there were several other problems that gave Celtic no choice but to dismiss Nancy.

His ill-fated tenure was short-lived, but where does it rank among other managers?

What do you think is the main reason Wilfried Nancy couldn’t buy a win as Celtic manager? 🤔

How many days did Wilfried Nancy spend as Celtic manager?

It may have only been a few weeks, but watching Celtic has felt like years for all of the wrong reasons.

All in all, Nancy lasted 33 days in charge of the Hoops.

That’s a record for the shortest managerial stint in Celtic history, with his closest challenger being John Barnes, who still managed 245 days in the dugout.

It’s quite remarkable that we didn’t think we would find someone as bad as Barnes, but it turns out that we did.

33 days is an exceptionally short spell for a manager but, it is the shortest reign of all time.

That record is technically held by Leroy Rosenior, who was sacked by Torquay United after 10 minutes in charge.

Marcelo Bielsa’s two days at Lazio also beats that, but the Frenchman was sacked six days quicker than former Hoops boss Ange Postecoglou was when in charge of Nottingham Forest.

Other managers who have also had short stints include the famous Brian Clough, who was sacked by Leeds United after just over 40 days with the Yorkshire club.
