Celtic’s reward for beating Partick Thistle in the Premier Sports Cup is a semi-final tie against Rangers.

Brendan Rodgers’ side made light work of the clash at Firhill as they ran out 4-0 winners in the quarter-final.

Rodgers rotated some of his squad but the standout player was Sebastian Tounekti, who impressed Celtic fans with another man of the match performance.

The Hoops now face a Glasgow derby in the semi-final at Hampden Park, but both fanbases will have their allocations reduced.

Celtic and Rangers to be given 500 tickets less for Premier Sports Cup semi-final

Hampden Park can hold just under 52,000 fans, but there will be just over 50,000 inside the ground for the semi-final.

This is due to an SPFL-imposed sanction in which both sides were punished for the use of pyrotechnics in the semi finals of the same competition last year.

A suspended ticket reduction of 800 fans across the competition has also been confirmed, however, this is separate from the 500 ticket penalty that will come into effect during the semi-final.

When is the Celtic vs Rangers Premier Sports Cup semi-final?

Now that the draw has been concluded for the semi-final, Celtic know when they will go up against Russell Martin’s men.

The game will be played on the weekend of 1/2 November and the winner at Hampden will go on to play either one of Motherwell or St Mirren in the final.

This semi-final is a repeat of last year’s final, which the Hoops won on penalties.
