Now that the season is over, some of Celtic’s players still have work to do on the international scene.
Adam Idah is currently on duty with the Republic of Ireland and the Celtic star defended himself from his critics while in the Irish international camp.
Kasper Schmeichel is also away with Denmark this week as Brian Riemer’s side prepare to take on Northern Ireland and Lithuania over the course of the next five days.
However, the Celtic hero was posted missing from the Denmark training camp this week as Danish outlet Ekstra Bladet explains why Schmeichel missed a training session on Tuesday.

The sad reason Celtic hero Kasper Schmeichel missed Denmark training
Schmeichel is looking to win his 114th and 115th cap for Denmark this week as the Celtic goalkeeper’s remarkable international career continues.
However, as Brian Riemer prepared his side, Schmeichel missed training this week due to the sad passing of his grandmother.
31-year-old Sønderjyske goalkeeper Jakob Busk shared an image on social media as the Denmark boss drafted him in as temporary cover for the Celtic icon.
Celtic hero Kasper Schmeichel’s incredible Denmark career
Schmeichel arrived at Celtic last summer after appearing at the Euros for Denmark in UEFA’s big summer tournament.
However, that is not the only major tournament the big Dane has made and here, we look at the Celtic star’s incredible Denmark career.
- Caps: 113
- Euro appearances: 2020 (6) Made the semi-final, 2024 (4) made the last 16.
- World Cup appearances: 2018 (4) Made the last 16.
Schmeichel has proven to be just as important for Denmark as he is now for Celtic and hopefully he returns to Glasgow injury-free.
