Wilfried Nancy is already getting to grips with the size of the task that awaits him at Celtic.

After spending the day at Lennoxtown on Thursday, Nancy sat down for his first press conference in charge.

The Hoops boss was very complimentary of the supporters after revealing he had already met some.

He’s also worked with his squad and overseen a training session in preparation for Sunday’s mammoth game against Hearts.

There won’t be much time to impose his style, but the 48-year-old has already noticed one thing about his team.

Which player is most likely to thrive under Wilfried Nancy?

Celtic head into the top of the table clash level on points with Hearts with a chance to go top, with a game in hand.

They managed to win all five of their league games under Martin O’Neill whereas Hearts are winless in their last four.

While the Bhoys should be confident, Nancy feels, from what he has seen so far, that his players need to have more belief in themselves.

He said: “Quality players but they have to believe a little bit more about themselves. After that, tactical flexibility. We have players who can play in different positions – this is important to have players who can play in two positions minimum.

“I like the diversity. It’s important to keep Scottish players, but also players from elsewhere.

“For me, it’s important to have desire to do well. I want my players to be confident and humble.”
