Wilfried Nancy will have to address many things in his time as Celtic manager.

The Hoops boss has been in the hotseat for two days now, with the focus turning towards the top of the table clash against Hearts.

Nancy has met players and staff at Lennoxtown, where he will begin to implement his ideas and philosophy.

His first press conference will take place on Friday but before that, he sat down with Celtic’s in-house social media, which has left supporters loving Nancy already.

One of those topics that came onto the agenda was his name, and how to pronounce it.

How to pronounce his name was one of those that came up and he told Gerry McCulloch, who led the interview.

McCulloch then posted how to say it on X, writing: “According to the man himself It’s Wilfried (as in ‘Wilfreed’) and Nancy (not Noncy).”

Taking over at a unique time in Celtic’s season, Nancy faces a battle to win the hearts and minds of those on and off the pitch.

With tensions between the fans and Celtic board at an all-time high, the 48-year-old can be the person to bridge the gap and restore some harmony.

He said: “Football is about relations between players. We don’t play tennis, we don’t play golf. We need, I call it non-verbal communication. We need to run together to score goals, we need to run together to defend the goal.

“We want to take care of the ball. I want proactive football. I want the idea to manipulate the opposition to gain speed and attack the box. When we have difficult moments, we have to be strong together and resilient.

“We all want to win. We have to prepare ourselves to be able to find solutions when we’re going to face problems.
