Willie Collum has said that John Beaton was right to give a penalty to Celtic in the win against Kilmarnock.
The Hoops beat Kilmarnock 2-1 after Kelechi Iheanacho came off the bench to score a penalty in the 96th minute on his debut.
There was plenty of debate over the decision after VAR indicated Lewis Mayo had handled the ball inside the box.
Beaton had waved away protests, but had his decision overturned, and Collum said it was the right call.

Willie Collum says Celtic penalty vs Kilmarnock was the right decision
Collum was looking through some of the most controversial decisions on the Scottish Football Association’s YouTube channel.
He and Gordon Duncan discussed the penalty decision, and while the former top-flight official admitted that it was ‘debatable’, he said awarding the spot-kick was the right thing.
“It’s a really debatable incident, this. The big thing for the VAR here is about the arm being up,” he said.
If the shot goes direct and hits Lewis Mayo without a deflection, it’s 100% a penalty kick. Even in this situation with this deflection, in law, you can justify the penalty.
“However, I’ve said from day one, we’ve spoken about stakeholders’ views that nobody accepted this (as a penalty).
“The feeling is that this should not be punished going forward. Moving forward, if this exact same decision happened again, we do not want to award a penalty kick.”
VAR has also been against Celtic this season
VAR has plagued football in recent years, and while Celtic benefitted from the technology against Kilmarnock, it was responsible for frustrations against Braga.
Iheanacho equalised on the night before VAR claimed he had handled the ball, even though the footage wasn’t clear and obvious.
Mark Clattenburg told 67 Hail Hail that the Braga decision was correct, as the Hoops went on to lose 2-0.
