It’s now the waiting game for Celtic fans regarding the new manager.
There has been a lot of talk about what is going to unfold at Celtic Park this week. From possible talks about Celtic’s next operations director to Martin O’Neill sitting down with Dermot Desmond.
Willie Haughey was discussing all things Celtic, including being told that Shaun Maloney could move upstairs.
If that’s the case, then, ‘reading between the lines’, Haughey believes that the powers that be at Celtic will bring in somebody ‘new’ for the manager role, and with their own coaching staff.
“But I would say reading between the lines that if they are talking about moving Shaun from the role he is in,” said Haughey.
“That would kind of say to me that someone new is coming in, with coaching staff. I might be completely wrong about that. I think Shaun deserves that.”
Give us your gut feeling after the cup final… will Martin O’Neill be Celtic manager next season?

Willie Haughey’s hunch about what Celtic will do next…
Haughey has set up a fans’ trust called the ‘Season Ticket Alliance’, which he hopes will help mend the broken relationship between those paying fans and those in the boardroom.
The former non-executive has drafted in Hoops legend Paul McStay to help him out, and let’s see the outcome of this in the future.
But in the meantime, Celtic need a new manager; some are calling for O’Neill to be given the gig because of the domestic double success.
Speaking to Go Radio, while Haughey wanted to insist that he doesn’t have inside knowledge, he did provide his hunch on what’s going to happen, given the rumours flowing around of late.
Haughey also wanted to acknowledge the chaotic season the champions of Scotland have just been through, and how they must be the first team to win a title after making so many managerial appointments.
Paul Cooney: “Celtic manager, surely it has to be Martin O’Neill. We are waiting to hear. I know there are interviews, apparently, this week about the operations director. Is it going to be Shaun Maloney?
“Willie, any insight you can give us?”
Haughey: “I actually don’t have an insight. But I would say reading between the lines that if they are talking about moving Shaun from the role he is in.
“That would kind of say to me that someone new is coming in, with coaching staff. I might be completely wrong about that. I think Shaun deserves that.
“If it were me, I would leave him in the role that he was in, because he has done such a good job. But I would say that looks to me as if someone new was coming in.
“A point I would like to make about winning the league. Celtic love the fact that they have set records all their life. They must be the first team in the world ever to win a league title with four different managers in a season.
“Sorry, three different managers. But one twice.”
