Celtic’s manager search has thrown up all sorts of names. Craig Bellamy is one of those but has now appeared in another live conversation, however, Steven Gerrard could help the Hoops’ chances of landing him.
Burnley have become part of the picture after Scott Parker left Turf Moor following relegation from the Premier League.
Bellamy has a clear Burnley connection from his time working there under Vincent Kompany, but it does not automatically mean he is the favourite.
He has seriously impressed in charge of Wales…
Steven Gerrard being favourite is good news for Celtic
Despite the former Celtic loanee’s links to the Clarets, Gerrard is the favourite according to multiple reports.
That should be viewed as good news for Celtic if Bellamy is genuinely part of their thinking.
Throughout all of this, Bellamy has remained calm about his future and refused to say if he would stay or leave his current position as manager of Wales’ national team.
Celtic should see the opportunity in the Bellamy picture
Celtic do not need to panic because another club has been mentioned around Bellamy. They need to judge whether he fits what they want from their next manager.
He would not be a risk-free appointment, and Celtic should not treat familiarity with the club as a full qualification.

It is worth noting that the 46-year-old has never managed at club level before and as far as jobs go, the one in Glasgow is one of the biggest in world football right now.
Fans are torn on the idea of Bellamy being appointed, but if the Hoops do want him, they may have a better chance of doing so.
