Celtic dodged a bullet with Bojan Miovski as Rangers fans turn on underperforming striker

Celtic were desperate for a striker, and Bojan Miovski was one of those on the list of options.

After struggling in Spain with Girona, Celtic looked at the possibility of bringing Miovski back to Scotland.

In the end, they didn’t escalate their interest and the North Macedonia international chose to join Rangers.

But, as we enter December, it seems like only one side has emerged as the true winners, again.

How many signings do Celtic need in January?

Bojan Miovski yet to impress at Rangers

Miovski was regarded as a big coup due to his previous record in the Scottish Premiership with Aberdeen.

However, he has been anything but that and has just two goals to his name from 17 appearances in all competitions.

His latest display in the goalless draw was enough for some sections of the Ibrox crowd to turn on him entirely.

Add to that, none of his fellow competitors are setting the world alight while down at Celtic Park, our strikers have looked far more composed – even if they aren’t necessarily firing on all cylinders.

Celtic should still sign a striker in January transfer window

Even though Rangers seem like they won’t be challenging for the title, Hearts are the side that look like they will be around for the season.

Laurence Shankland and Claudio Braga look sharp in front of goal and the Hoops haven’t managed to find an out-and-out striker.

Louis Munteanu should be available in January due to Cluj’s ongoing financial issues and has experience of playing in European football.

He would be ready-made, and could provide the goals to get the Bhoys over the line and win the title.
