Celtic’s leadership issue is highlighted by one familiar theme

Celtic lost again and if anyone is in denial about the current situation, they can think again.

The loss against Rangers was the sixth in eight games since Wilfried Nancy took charge of the Hoops and leaves them with a mountain to climb in the title race.

Nancy’s start is the worst a Celtic manager has made in the club’s 128-year history, but the players should also hang their heads in shame.

He faced the music with another press conference, but one thing is apparent about the lack of leadership at the club right now.

Where are Celtic’s leaders?

One thing that is evisent is that this Celtic side has little to no leadership.

Callum McGregor wears the armband, but we don’t hear much else.

Kieran Tierney, Kasper Schmeichel and James Forrest are all established figures and experienced professionals. When was the last time they stepped in front of the camera?

It’s always the same players taking the fall. Anthony Ralston spoke of ‘togetherness’ before the Rangers game. Where is it?

In testing times, you need people like this to step up and prove themselves.

Celtic are missing two big leaders

Just because many hide in the shadows now, doesn’t mean that there aren’t any at all.

Two of the biggest voices in the dressing room are Cameron Carter-Vickers and Alistair Johnston.

Both are out injured and have been missed greatly. This should be a time where others step up in their absence, though, and prove they can do the same thing.
