In the three transfer windows Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou has had since taking charge at Parkhead, he has shown how effective he can be.

Looking at the business conducted under the 56-year-old, the majority of first-team signings have had their part to play in the Hoops’ success.

So far, during the first month of the 2022 summer window, Postecoglou has continued to show how effective he can be, adding four new quality additions to the squad.

It very much feels like the club has turned a corner in the last year regarding how we go about our business.

Examples of this include the clever double signing of Cameron Carter-Vickers and Jota, who initially joined on loan before agreeing a permanent move through the option-to-buy in their deals.

It is also evident that we have also improved in how we aim for new signings and deciding when the best time to move on to another target is.

Back in January, the Bhoys’ pursuit of Australian midfielder Riley McGree was public knowledge, to the point that many outlets believed the deal was all but done.

However, instead the 23-year-old chose to join English Championship side Middlesbrough at the 11th hour.

We might have seen Celtic waiting before moving on to another potential transfer target in previous years. But, Postecoglou and his staff quickly made the jump for Matt O’Riley.

The rest, as they say, is history.

Just six months later, Celtic appear that they might be approaching a similar scenario in their pursuit of Vinicius Souza.

The midfielder is taking his time to weigh up his options. However, if reports are to be believed, Postecoglou has made it clear he has waited long enough and needs a decision from the Brazilian.

If Souza cannot come to a decision, the Celtic boss will swiftly move on to other options available on the market or that those behind the scenes have been watching closely.

Postecoglou has already proven he has those sorts of tricks up his sleeve and the Parkhead faithful are confident in the ex-Socceroos manager’s ability.

So, we will have to wait and see what the next move is for all parties within the next few days.

But I am sure Ange will be ready to pounce either way.
