Latest Dermot Desmond move suggests Celtic have made their Robbie Keane decision

Many would have expected Celtic to have appointed a new coach by now, but this is an incompetent board we are talking about.

Led by Dermot Desmond, the powers that be at Celtic have seemingly come up with three names for the managerial post – Martin O’Neill, Robbie Keane, and Craig Bellamy.

Clearly, a lot of thought has gone into this, but if it were up to the Celtic supporters, they would want O’Neill to stay on board for next season.

But the latest news coming from Lennoxtown, and it’s Sky Sports who are reporting this, is that Desmond is due to meet with Keane for ‘further talks’ this week.

It further indicates, and it’s the biggest hint yet, that the former Republic of Ireland striker might be taking to the Celtic Park dugout next season.

Prepare for the worst, Celtic fans…

A lot does depend on O’Neill. He has provided mixed messages about wanting the job for next season, but hopefully, he will put his foot down and demand that he be in charge.

If that’s the case, then Desmond surely has no choice but to appoint the legendary Irishman once more.

Otherwise, those Celtic supporters who do not want Keane at the club will have to prepare for the worst, and you wonder what type of reaction he will get.

You have even heard who will be a part of Keane’s coaching staff – Scott Brown, Jonny Hayes, and Stephen Glass.

Plus, it was previously reported that Brown and Hayes went to meet Keane in Hungary recently, before he decided to quit his role at Ferencvaros.

Once again, all of this doesn’t come out if there isn’t something serious on the table.

Hopefully, things will change for the better in the coming days, because this already broken relationship between the Celtic board and the fans will just somehow get worse if Keane is the manager.
