Celtic fans will still be buzzing at the Ibrox fightback, but it’s important to focus on the big Aberdeen fixture tonight as Martin O’Neill looks to get back to winning ways and close the eight-point gap to Hearts.

The Hoops’ draw at Rangers showed two sides of Celtic fans are fed up of seeing this season. They love the fighting spirit of the team and the late winners and fightbacks. But the continued falling behind early in the game is frustrating.

Which makes Martin O’Neill’s team selection crucial as the Celtic manager decides whether to start Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Dane Murray or Daizen Maeda up front.

Let’s hear your score predictions for Aberdeen vs Celtic🔥

Callum Boyle’s Celtic selection issue that Martin O’Neill faces

Games in hand present an opportunity but when handed them this season, Celtic have folded. A win is the only reasonable outcome here if we want to win the league. No more dropped points and perfection for the rest of the year.

I’d like to see something different. Whether that means a change in formation or moving Saracchi and Araujo into attacking roles, with Tierney and Donovan as full-backs. It’s been stale but I think at this stage results matter more than performances.

Aberdeen are fragile but do pose a threat with the likes of Kevin Nisbet. However, Martin O’Neill can grind out results and I think we will get over the line.

Amir Mir predicts big Celtic changes with Reo Hatate starting

Celtic make quite a lot of matches more difficult than they should be, but they should pounce on Aberdeen’s problems and secure three points far more comfortably here.

But at the end of the day, all that matters is winning this game in hand, and I expect Celtic to produce. Perhaps a few changes, such as Reo Hatate and Sebastian Tounekti coming in. Who starts up front? I wouldn’t mind seeing Maeda up top.

Three points. Clean sheet. Maeda and McGregor as the scorers.

Aberdeen 0 v 2 Celtic

Patrick Sinat believes inspired Rangers fightback will spark Celtic result at Pittodrie

The feelgood factor from the Stuttgart result and the fightback at Rangers will inspire Celtic to hammer a lacklustre Aberdeen.

Peter Leven’s side haven’t won since the 24th of January and are really struggling in the league in eighth place, safe-ish from relegation but too far adrift to make the top six.

Heavy win for Celtic as Martin O’Neill’s side look to make up some ground in goal difference.

Aberdeen 0 v 4 Celtic

Celtic are currently trailing Hearts by eight points at the top of the Scottish Premiership table. Martin O’Neill knows more dropped points will make the title defence extremely difficult.

A win will be another confidence boost ahead of Celtic’s Scottish Cup tie at Rangers on Sunday and it could prove crucial in the context of the swing of how the rest of the season will go.
