With the recent addition of Shane Duffy to the Celtic squad, it was presumably thought that the Hoops would switch to a three at the back system. Duffy, Christopher Jullien and Kristoffer Ajer would be the players set for the roles.
However, a solid international display by a Celtic utility man may have given Neil Lennon food for thought when it comes to his best defensive line-up.
That player is Nir Bitton. Bitten played for Israel on Friday night against three of his Celtic team-mates who started for Scotland.
Played well in defensive role
Bitton played well in a defensive role for Israel, as the game ended 1-1. Indeed, as reported by 67HailHail, some Celtic fans took to Twitter to praise him after the game.
Neil Lennon would no doubt have watched the game or been sent reports on how his international players fared.

He would have been satisfied with how Bitton fared, and indeed it may give him a good problem going forward. Maybe Bitton’s game time won’t be as limited as first thought.
Perhaps when it comes to picking a starting-line up for the game against Ross County next Saturday for example, Lennon will include Bitton in the side.
It is well-known that Lennon isn’t afraid to play Bitton in defence in big games. He has played there for the Hoops in Champions League qualifiers.
Manager given plenty to think about
When Celtic’s players return from international duty towards the end of the week, Neil Lennon will have plenty to think about.

That includes who plays in the Hoops defence going forward. Celtic currently have a big squad. That will be needed as the Hoops are set to play a host of matches for the rest of the year.
That could mean two games a week for a long period of time. Celtic’s squad may need to be utilised to the full. That may mean more game time for Bitton. If he can take his international form to Celtic Park, he could be a regular at the back.
In other news, some Celtic fans reacted to Odsonne Edouard’s return from injury.
