Brendan Rodgers will be hoping to add some fresh faces to his Celtic squad before transfer deadline day ends.
The Hoops boss detailed his transfer ‘plan’ when he spoke after Celtic’s win at Motherwell yesterday afternoon.
Celtic manager Rodgers said he was ‘hopeful’ that business could be done as the Northern Irishman said that there was ‘lots of work going on behind the scenes’ at Celtic.
However, as Rodgers fronts up to the cameras, there is one man behind the scenes at Celtic who fans will look to if there is no or not enough transfer business completed when the window closes at 11pm tonight.

Fans will look to Paul Tisdale as Head of Celtic’s Football Operations chairs first transfer window
Paul Tisdale was hired as Celtic’s Head of Football Operations back in October 2024 after the former Exeter City manager was involved in a consultancy capacity at the club.
Celtic fans expressed excitement at the appointment and saw the move as a positive step forward for the Parkhead clubs recruitment process.
When Celtic announced Tisdale, the club said his role would be to oversee and ‘provide leadership and direction to our First Team and Boys Academy recruitment departments‘ and to ‘oversee the development and management of effective football operations which will support high-level football performance, including the identification and development of talent‘.
With just one addition so far in this window and Celtic losing star striker Kyogo Furuhashi to Rennes, Luis Palma, Stephen Welsh, Gustaf Lagerbielke, Alexandro Bernabei and Alex Valle there is no doubt the Hoops are weaker now than when the window opened on the 1st of January.
If Tisdale cannot secure the signings that Brendan Rodgers clearly needs for the first team, the fan microscope will fall firmly on his shoulders at close of play tonight.
What Brendan Rodgers said about Paul Tisdale’s recruitment role at Celtic
Rodgers was happy with Celtic appointing Tisdale as that meant he could put more focus on training and preparing the first team than worrying about what’s going on behind the scenes at the club.
At the time, Rodgers said, “I felt that having someone in to help support that organisation and a lot of the logistics that go on at that level, from recruitment to academy to admin, for me, a modern club needs that.
“If you’re going to progress, you need that operation. If I’m out on the pitch and doing all the stuff there, it still needs to go on down here.
“Clearly, the business side of the club has run immaculately, you only need to look at Celtic over many, many years.
“From a strategy perspective, that was Paul’s role. So he links in very closely with Michael and myself, along with Dermot, in terms of the strategy. We obviously converse a lot, we speak a lot, and he will bring his strength to that role.
