Celtic have one final leg to complete of pre-season.
The players are currently in the picturesque city of Lake Como in Italy, where Celtic will face Ajax on Thursday evening, before playing either Nicolas Kuhn’s Como or the Saudi Pro League side, Al Ahli, over the weekend.
Brendan Rodgers’ side have completed five games of pre-season, and the best two results and performances have come during the past week.
After Celtic’s wins over Newcastle and Sporting Lisbon, it has brought an air of positivity to the fanbase, and the new kid in the house is impressing.

Benjamin Nygren is ‘already a bargain’ at Celtic
Benjamin Nygren can play across the front three, but mainly, he likes to operate on the right flank after joining Celtic for £2 million from FC Nordsjaelland.
Hugh Keevins is already giving Nygren his flowers and has claimed that the 24-year-old ‘already looks to be a bargain’, as he told Clyde 1 Superscoreboard.
Celtic’s recruitment might frustrate fans, at times, but it always delivers, and it might have done so again with this Nygren deal.
“Part of the game now, you have a recruitment department,” said Keevins. “We all know that databases, analytics, and all the rest of it.
“You don’t necessarily have to wait for the domino effect to come into play. You would like to think, a club of Celtic’s size, in the recruitment department, for example, Benjamin Nygren, who already looks to be a bargain at the money that Celtic paid for him.”
Celtic can be ‘more adventurous and ambitious’ in striker search
Another area still to be resolved, ahead of Celtic’s opening match against St Mirren, is the striker department, despite two new forwards joining.
The two players in question – Callum Osmand and Shin Yamada – have very little experience at the top level, with the former yet to make a senior appearance in professional football.
Either way, Keevins thinks, whilst Celtic don’t need to spend ‘£20 million’ on a number nine, they can afford to be ‘more adventurous and ambitious’ than what they have already brought in.
“Celtic can afford to look for another top-class striker,” added Keevins.
“I am not talking about £20 million players. But, perhaps, more adventurous and ambitious than a £1.5 million Japanese project.”
