Celtic are in search of a goalscorer in January.

Even though Wilfried Nancy picked up his first win as Celtic manager on Sunday, there are still clear issues, and one of them is the lack of ruthlessness in front of goal.

Celtic should have thumped Aberdeen by nearly double figures, but there is a clear issue with the strikers, and this is where the January transfer window will play a part.

The champions of Scotland want to catch surprise leaders Hearts in the Premiership table, and perhaps one way to do that is to nick one of their star men, Claudio Braga?

You have £20m to spend in the January transfer window. How are you spending it?

Would Celtic pay £6 million for Claudio Braga

Could Celtic lure a player from Hearts? Of course, they could. They are by far the bigger club, and it will forever remain that way.

But, of course, the Jambos would put up a much bigger fight to keep hold of such a player, because it has been a long time since they have been in this situation.

It was questioned on Clyde 1 what would happen if Celtic tried to buy Braga for big money, but Andy Halliday made it clear that the Hoops wouldn’t stump up ‘£6 million’ for the forward, despite his blistering form, including scoring at Celtic Park this term.

“Hindsight is a wonderful thing, we have just come up with two scenarios there,” said Halliday. “I don’t see Celtic paying £6 million for Braga.”

Will we hunt Hearts down and win the title?

Braga’s season at Hearts so far in numbers

Hearts’ much-talked-about Jamestown analytics has worked wonders here because they signed Braga from Norwegian second-tier side Aalesunds in the summer.

Fast forward to the present, and the 26-year-old is proving to be one of the best players in Scotland, who has a goalscoring touch that Celtic desperately need.
