Celtic fans can breathe a sigh of relief for now.

Nobody will be more relieved than Wilfried Nancy, who was probably on the brink of getting sacked by Celtic after losing his first four games in charge.

But Celtic’s 3-1 win over 10-man Aberdeen on Sunday was deserved, but as per, very nervy, with Kieran Tierney and James Forrest needing to score late, late goals to secure the three points.

Make of it what you want about Nancy, but a common theme is emerging, and it has even left Willie Miller shocked.

Would you rather have wing-backs or a striker join the club in January?

Willie Miller on Celtic’s finishing against Aberdeen

The scoreline might have read three goals to one, but let’s be honest, Celtic should have scored a lot more, only for their poor finishing to let them down, including hitting the woodwork on several occasions.

That was the story during Celtic’s defeat to Dundee United in midweek, and after the Hoops repeated it against Aberdeen, Miller told BBC Radio Scotland (21/12/25), ‘I haven’t seen anything like it.’

The Dons legend admitted that if his former side had conceded close to double-figure goals, then they couldn’t have complained.

“This was extraordinary,” said Miller. “I am looking. There are five big chances before they score the goal. They score the goal, and they have a sixth chance after that.

“At the beginning of the second half, I had eight big chances, including the saves and off the post. Then you add to that the two goals they have scored. I mean, it is incredible. It was wave after wave. Chance after chance. Aberdeen still had a wee opportunity to take something from the game, you couldn’t believe it. It was quite incredible.

“Pat (Bonner) says he hasn’t seen anything like it. I certainly haven’t seen anything like it. If it had been approaching double figures. I don’t think Aberdeen could have complained about it – they were so unlucky as well. What was it four off the post?”

What would your message be to Wilfried Nancy after that huge win?

Pat Bonner issues damning message about Celtic’s forwards

The Celtic supporters will be screaming for a striker to be signed in January because it is perhaps the club’s biggest problem area.

Pat Bonner explained what would have happened if a striker of a higher regard had played against Aberdeen.

“Any top, top-class striker would have scored maybe three or four goals,” admitted Bonner.

“There is no question. Getting into the positions. Putting the ball into the back of the net. That’s the area he (Nancy) needs to strengthen.”
