Celtic could do with a striker in the January transfer window.
They could especially do with one who put two goals past them at Celtic Park a few weeks ago.
Evan Ferguson’s childhood ties to the Celts make him an obvious target, but since he moved on loan to the Italian giants in the summer, performances like his one in Glasgow have been the exception more than the rule.
67 Hail Hail understands that Celtic are monitoring Ferguson’s situation, with his Roma future up in the air.
And ahead of the January window, his club have now made a major decision on their striker’s future.

It was pretty representative of Celtic’s start under Wilfried Nancy that Ferguson put two past them in the first half.
He has scored just once in his other 18 outings for Gian Piero Gasperini’s side.

As a result, they are now dipping into the market to bolster their attacking options with a player in Ferguson’s position.
According to Calciomercato’s Daniele Longo, they have agreed personal terms with Manchester United striker Joshua Zirkzee.
Zirkzee only moved to Old Trafford last summer, after a breakthrough season at Bologna. In 18 months at United, he has scored just four Premier League goals.
Such a lucrative signing would push Ferguson even further behind in the pecking order, forcing Brighton to consider recalling him to the Amex Stadium.
A long-term injury to Seagulls striker Stefanos Tzimas could, however, bring Ferguson back into Fabian Hurzeler’s plans, so a move to Celtic wouldn’t be straightforward.
But judging from what we saw at Celtic Park, Nancy could certainly do a lot worse than securing Ferguson’s signature in January.

Ferguson made his first friendly appearance for Bohemians’ senior team aged just 14. He joined Brighton at 16, making his debut six months later.
An early developer physically, he eventually started getting minutes in the Premier League as a teenager. Along with Cesc Fabregas, he is one of the only two non-English players to get ten goal involvements in the division before the age of 18.
At his peak level of hype, interest from Chelsea and Manchester United was reportedly fended off by a £100 million price tag set by Brighton.
But a few years on, that feels a long, long way away, after unsuccessful loan spells at West Ham and now Roma.
