Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou has suggested that the Hoops already have several deals lined up ahead of the January transfer window opening.

The Bhoys have made a brilliant start to the domestic campaign, winning 14 of their first 15 games in the Scottish Premiership this season.

Despite the positive start, Postecoglou is still extremely keen to see his squad improve as he targets new additions in the winter transfer window.

In the build-up to January, the 57-year-old has been open regarding his transfer plans over the next few months.

Postecoglou has praised recruitment chief Mark Lawwell and those behind-the-scenes, with plenty of preparation going in ahead of the window opening.

Earlier this year, the Hoops made quick moves in the January window, bringing Reo Hatate, Daizen Maeda and Yosuke Ideguchi to the club on January 1st.

And the Bhoys hierarchy are looking to make similar moves in the coming months by getting their business done quickly.

Speaking about Celtic’s transfer plans, Ange Postecoglou was once again open, stating that the Hoops already have a few deals lined up.

The former Socceroos boss also expressed how important it is for the club to be ready to react during the transfer window should a move for a player materialise.

He said [Daily Record]: “It’s fair to say there’s a couple lined up.

“It’s how we’ve done things and how I believe we need to be. It’s how I’m built. I don’t like rushing around last minute. It’s not always the case. Matt O’Riley, we did in three days last year.

“We saw an opportunity and moved really quickly. We need to be agile when we need to, and when we don’t, we can methodically plan to make sure we get things done. If we can get guys early, once January 1 hits, they are already part of this football club.”

One of those moves that Celtic appear to have lined up is the signing of Vissel Kobe central defender Yuki Kobayashi, with reports suggesting the Japanese youngster is closing in on a move.

The J-League has become a familiar market to the club since Postecoglou’s arrival, with key stars, including Hatate and Kyogo Furuhashi, signing from their homeland in the last 18 months.

The Celtic manager is keen to continue shopping in different markets across the world, including Japan, to try and create a new edge.

When asked if the club aims to continue exploiting different markets, Ange responded: “Yes, absolutely. For us to challenge the teams we want to challenge, we need to do things a bit differently.

“We have to box clever. It’s worked well for us so far. The markets we’ve tapped into have been really beneficial for us, and we’ve got great value in terms of what they’ve provided to our football club. We’ll be looking to do it again.”

Celtic set for swift movement in the transfer window as early January plans come to light.

After Postecoglou revealed that the Hoops preparation for the January window was well underway, there has been plenty of speculation and excitement surrounding the business the club might do.

And in recent weeks, those plans have started to come to light, with reports stating the Bhoys are after a new right back and striker.

The Celtic manager’s latest revelation should be an extremely exciting one for the Celtic support, with ‘a couple’ of deals already lined up and potentially imminent.

It is certainly a statement of intent from Postecoglou, who is looking to continue improving and developing his squad, which has been so dominant in Scotland since his arrival last summer.
