To rub salt into Celtic’s striker wounds, several former players are thriving after leaving the club.
One of them includes Celtic’s former back-up striker Hyeongyu Oh, who moved to Glasgow from South Korea in 2023, but was out of the door 18 months later.
Since then, Oh has thrived in the colours of Genk, including scoring against Rangers in the Europa League this season.
But now, Oh could be making an even bigger move in his career, as a possible transfer to the hotbed and money-crazy English Premier League awaits.

What would you say to Dermot Desmond about Celtic’s transfer model now?

Hyeongyu Oh is being eyed by English Premier League side Fulham
Fulham are looking to add some much-needed goals to their ranks before the January transfer window slams shut.
The London club are currently four points behind fourth-placed Manchester United in the Premier League table, and Oh is one of the players on their radar.
Sky Sports have reported that Fulham have held ‘positive talks’ with Genk about securing Oh’s signature, as they have also made a £28 million bid for PSV striker Ricardo Pepi.
Oh’s record at Genk compared to Celtic
At the time, Oh was at Celtic, you had Kyogo Furuhashi as the main guy, as well as the Hoops paying big money for Adam Idah.
So, it was always going to be difficult for the all-action forward to earn regular starts, but he has managed to do so in Belgium and is thriving.
Genk aren’t going great guns in the Belgian Pro League, sitting in the bottom half, but they are pushing for a top-eight finish in the Europa League, with the final league phase matches to take place on Thursday.
