‘At least’ – Kasper Dolberg Celtic transfer timeline as Anderlecht set minimum asking price

Celtic are negotiating with Anderlecht for striker Kasper Dolberg.

The Denmark international was a substitute for the Belgians yesterday as he played 17 minutes in a 2-0 defeat to Union Saint-Gilloise.

The Hoops have seen two bids rejected for Dolberg thus far, and they still have to convince moving to Glasgow is the right decision for his future.

Reports claim Celtic are readying a third bid, and the Scottish champions have been informed of the price they must meet.

Anderlecht want ‘at least’ £10m from Celtic for Dolberg

According to Danish outlet Bold, at least £10m will need to be coughed up by Celtic if Anderlecht are to progress with negotiations.

Moreover, the publication states that both clubs expect the talks to go right to the wire on Monday evening, with the deadline in Scotland scheduled for 11pm.

Bold have stated: “As Bold understands it, the Scottish giants have previously offered 8 million pounds – equivalent to just under 70 million kroner – for Dolberg, but that is not enough in Anderlecht’s view.

“According to Bold’s information, the Brussels club will at least have the good news of 10 million pounds for Dolberg.

“This corresponds to 86 million kroner.

“There are other clubs lurking on the fringes of the scene, but it is Celtic who are pushing for Dolberg. The other clubs do not seem particularly interesting to any of the parties involved.

“Celtic and Anderlecht are still in ongoing dialogue about the Danish sharpshooter, and both clubs expect the big poker game to continue until the closing of the transfer window later Monday.”

£10m well within Celtic’s means

It’s time Celtic push the boat out this summer window, particularly with just hours until the deadline. And if it means paying a little more than they want to – which is their own fault – then so be it.

A quality striker is needed and Dolberg, a Danish international with 55 caps, has to be signing.

Celtic have spent around £8.75m on senior players this summer, which isn’t goo enough for angry fans considering the vast amounts of cash reserves the club hold.

Celtic can easily deliver £10m for Anderlecht, and if a third bid does go in, they simply cannot try to lowball the deal again with so little time remaining.
