Celtic fans are eagerly awaiting immediate clarity in the dugout, so the ruthless summer transfer clearout can finally get underway.
One of the players linked with Celtic in recent times has been Liverpool star Andy Robertson.
The 2025/26 Premier League campaign concluded on Sunday, as Robertson bid an emotional farewell to Anfield following Liverpool’s 1-1 draw with Brentford.
The real drama, however, unfolded in the capital.
Tottenham Hotspur narrowly avoided a disastrous drop to the Championship with a tense 1-0 victory over Everton, a result that simultaneously condemned London rivals West Ham United to relegation.
Spurs’ great escape has a massive bearing on Robertson’s future.
Despite swirling rumours of Robertson possibly joining Celtic, Ben Jacobs reports that the defender is now set to join Roberto De Zerbi’s side this summer upon the expiry of his Liverpool contract.

Andy Robertson set to join Tottenham Hotspur after Liverpool farewell
Celtic have Kieran Tierney as the main left-back, while Marcelo Saracchi has had a pretty strong campaign after joining from Boca Juniors on a season-long loan deal.
Some even suggested that Celtic don’t need Robertson, but given that it’s his boyhood club and he is available on a free, then you can understand the links.
But with Spurs maintaining their top-flight status, it seems as though that call will be taken out of Celtic’s hands, because he is now ‘set to join’ the London club.
Transfer expert Ben Jacobs shared on social media that there has already been an ‘agreement’ in place for Robertson to join the English side.

Kieran Tierney and Marcelo Saracchi: The way forward for Celtic
Look, it would have been brilliant to witness Robertson live his boyhood dream and play for Celtic.
But some things are just not meant to be.
What’s fascinating is that, while Celtic are in desperate need of a massive summer clearout, the left-back position is the one area of the pitch that should remain entirely untouched.
Tierney is probably Celtic’s best player, while Saracchi has been underrated and has been a rare top signing from last summer.
With that area of the pitch already secure, a move for Robertson was ultimately unnecessary. Celtic can simply wish the Scotland captain the best of luck as he heads to Spurs.
