There haven’t been many seasons like this at Celtic.
It has been chaotic beyond order. From Celtic missing out on Champions League football to Brendan Rodgers’ abrupt and brutal ending in October.
There are still many issues now with Wilfried Nancy, but whilst Celtic continue to suffer, Rodgers has landed himself a new job in Saudi Arabia.
The issue for the Hoops is that Celtic’s trophy-laden coach could be knocking on the door when the January transfer window re-opens.
Do you think Callum McGregor would ever leave Celtic?

Callum McGregor leaving Celtic in January would be ‘the end’ for some supporters
When Rodgers previously left Celtic for Leicester City in 2019, there were suggestions that he wanted to sign Callum McGregor.
Now that Rodgers is Al Qadsiah’s coach, it has been suggested the same could happen, and Billy Dodds thinks it isn’t a good sign.
Speaking on Go Radio, Dodds explained that the Celtic skipper heading for the exit door in January would be ‘the end’ for some supporters.
“Celtic fans must be having kittens,” said Dodds. “Obviously, what’s happened this season, that’s where I am starting.
“I mean, they self-destruct right in front of the fans’ very eyes. Then there was talk of Maeda, the transfer window that didn’t go well, then the manager goes, pick this manager, and it’s not quite working out.
“And imagine that Brendan Rodgers comes back to take Callum McGregor?! So, that’s the story.
“I mean, it could be true. That would be the end of some Celtic fans. There is a time for Callum McGregor to go, and it’s not the January transfer window.
“Could you imagine? He might be pushing. But I think the way he is as a person. I think if there is anything about him, he will try to get the season down the road. Try to win the title for Celtic, and then maybe go.”
Who is the most important player in the Celtic squad?
McGregor is ‘irreplaceable’ at Celtic
Forget about January, even if McGregor left in the summer, and you wouldn’t blame him for taking the money, then there is no replacement in sight.
He would be leaving a massive hole in the team, and as Chris Burke rightfully put it, he is ‘irreplaceable.’
“Listen, Callum has done unbelievably for Celtic,” stated Burke.
“He probably might go down as one of the greatest Celtic players to have ever worn that jersey. I can’t speak highly enough of him.
“They would be absolutely devastated. That could be the icing on the cake if the likes of Callum go in January. He is one player in that dressing room who is irreplaceable.”
