These coming weeks and months will be huge in how Celtic reshape their squad for next season.
In most cases, Celtic need to decide who the manager will be, so they can start making the proper calls around the squad.
But in some cases, such as Johnny Kenny, you feel the writing is on the wall, and that was proven on Sunday afternoon at Wembley.
Kenny was on loan at Bolton Wanderers this season, helping them secure a play-off spot, but his season was cut short because of injury.
But you sense that Bolton’s return to England’s second-tier has now probably opened the door for Kenny to earn a permanent exit to the League One play-off winners.
Does Johnny Kenny have a long-term future at Celtic?
Bolton to sign Johnny Kenny from Celtic after promotion to the Championship?
First and foremost, from a financial perspective, Bolton have now been provided with a bit of a boost after they thrashed Stockport County in the League One play-off final, so that’s one box ticked.
Then you add in the suggestion that the English side has long been wanting to sign Kenny, before nabbing his talents in the winter.
Added to that, Kenny found his goalscoring touch at Bolton, including continued praise from their manager, Steven Schumacher.
Plus, during a season where Celtic needed goals, they let go of Kenny in January, because it was clear that he wasn’t good enough going forward, so you suspect that will continue heading into the next campaign.

Kenny’s record as a Bolton player
Previously, Celtic rejected bids of around £500k for Kenny; you suspect more money needs to be put on the table for the player to leave for good.
If that happens, there is no reason why an exit shouldn’t be sanctioned, and it would be the right move for all parties.
But while the Republic of Ireland star’s season was cut short right towards the end, he still played a key role in Bolton returning to the Championship.
