Brendan Rodgers isn’t putting a number on the amount of players we can expect to sign for Celtic before the end of the transfer window but certainly thinks the Bhoys need a few more in the door.
Celtic have already brought in a multitude of talent from across the globe this summer with players such as Maik Nawrocki, Odin Holm and Hyunjun Yang already getting game time.
A move for Elfsborg defender Gustaf Lagerbielke is also on the cards to replace Carl Starfelt, who left for Celta Vigo last week.
The good news is Celtic are pursuing multiple signings beyond the deal for Lagerbielke and as we reach the tail end of the window, Rodgers has made that clear again.
The Bhoys boss said in the wake of Sunday’s 3-1 win over Aberdeen [The Scotsman]: “We’re looking to obviously reinforce with Carl going so hopefully we can do that in the coming days.
“We need a few more, that’s for sure. I don’t want to put a number on it really but we’ve got a bit of time to strengthen the squad and hopefully we will do that.”
At this stage of the summer, I’m sure many fans would like to see movement rather than spoken assurances, but we all know these things take time. That Rodgers has reiterated the desire for more signings is proof enough that Celtic are far from finished in the market.

A quality wide attacker still looks like a priority after the surprise exit of Jota, while many opinions have swirled that the Bhoys need to be on the lookout for goalkeepers and defenders.
Ultimately only the inner circle at Celtic know what’s on the agenda. What’s clear is that the club have the resources to spend decent cash, an ambition to improve the squad and a manager confident about what positions need strengthening after a period of summer assessment.
All of that hopefully adds up to an exciting final few weeks of the window.
In other news, Celtic deliver enormous 9-0 Sunday SWPL win.
