Celtic’s transfer window is in full swing now and more players are expected through the door.

Kieran Tierney’s return was confirmed on Tuesday as Brendan Rodgers’ first signing of the 2025 summer transfer window was finalised.

The attacking department seems to be the priority for the Celtic manager, in particular the wide roles.

Sondre Orjasaeter could cost Celtic around £7m and even though the Bhoys are likely to have money in the bank, they will want to spend it wisely.

Rodgers has been known to link up with old favourites and a former Leicester City player could be heading to Celtic Park.

Celtic to rival French side for Fousseni Diabate

According to Africa Foot, Celtic are one of the clubs interested in winger Fousseni Diabate.

The Mali international was a former player at Leicester under Rodgers but never got given a decent run in the side and eventually joined Trabzonspor on a permanent deal in September 2020.

He scored twice on his Foxes debut in a 5-1 win over Peterborough in January 2018 and is currently playing for Lausanne-Sport.

There, the 29-year-old has been in red-hot form for the Swiss Super League outfit and has bagged 10 goals in 65 games – his best return as a senior professional.

In the report it states that Paris FC are leading the chase to sign the winger but Celtic, and a host of European clubs, are also in contention.

Celtic could’ve signed Diabate in 2019

In the first full summer after Rodgers’ move to Leicester and Neil Lennon’s first transfer window in his second spell as Hoops manager, the chance to sign Diabate arose then.

The Sun reported that Rodgers was keen to loan out the winger and that Lennon was one of those interested in taking him in on loan.

A deal never materialised in the end and Celtic instead signed Mohamed Elyounoussi that summer.
