Celtic are getting busy in the transfer market this summer.

Brendan Rodgers has already added Kieran Tierney at Celtic and is also looking to bring young Fulham striker Callum Osmand to Parkhead.

The Celtic manager is keen to bring Ross Doohan back to Paradise as Rodgers looks to make tweaks to his title-winning squad.

However, it appears that the Hoops boss’ pursuit of Norwegian winger Sondre Orjasaeter has taken a turn after a report from Sky Sports reveals how much Celtic will need to pay to land the talented 21-year-old.

Celtic learn price of Sondre Orjasaeter after January bid was booted out

Celtic tried to buy Orjasaeter for £4.6m in January as Rodgers looked to bolster his forward line for the title run-in.

However, the young Norwegian’s club Sarpsborg booted that out as they believe they can get more for the highly-rated winger.

And as Celtic re-open talks again for Orjasaeter, Sky Sports have said that it could take as much as £7m for Rodgers to land his man this summer.

The report states that teams from Germany and the Netherlands also want the youngster but no ‘concrete’ bids have been placed as yet.

What Sondre Orjasaeter said about Celtic’s interest

Orjasaeter is aware of Celtic’s interest and when he was asked about the rejected bid in January, the young winger admitted that that was a ‘brutal’ time for him.

Orjasaeter said, “They were pretty brutal days for me in January. I struggled to sleep.

“I didn’t know if I was going to be in Norway or not. I could have moved at any moment.

“I had to carry my passport with me everywhere.”

Sarpsborg extended Orjasaeter’s contract back in March and upon signing his new deal he was asked about the interest from European clubs.

He told Sarpsborg’s YouTube channel, “It’s absolutely beautiful [to sign a new deal]. I have nothing to complain about.

“It’s a very nice group, a good coaching team, and very good media managers, and so I’m really enjoying myself.

Orjasaeter seems like a grounded young man and someone who could fit easily in the current Celtic set-up as this story looks to develop over the coming days.
