Can Bojan Miovski make debut against Celtic just 24 hours after signing for Rangers?

Bojan Miovski was a player Celtic admired.

The Hoops were heavily linked with signing the striker from Aberdeen before he made a £6.8m switch to La Liga outfit Girona last summer.

Miovski struggled in Spain, however, and last week was offered the chance to sign for Celtic’s arch-rivals Rangers on a loan deal.

But the North Macedonian wanted a permanent move, and that wish has been granted, because Rangers have now confirmed the £4.2m signing of the former Don.

So with less than 24 hours until Celtic face Rangers at Ibrox, can Miovski actually make his debut in the Glasgow derby?

Miovski can make Rangers debut vs Celtic

According to several sources including Sky Sports reporter Anthony Joseph and The Scottish Sun, Rangers will see their strike force boosted against Celtic.

They report that Miovski is expected to be in the matchday squad in Govan and is in line to make his competitive debut against the Hoops.

It appears Rangers have managed to register him in time with the relevant Scottish football authorities to give him the opportunity to play.

Celtic will also have their new signings in the matchday squad, with Brendan Rodgers confirming Michel-Ange Balikwisha and Marcelo Saracchi’s availability.

Miovski’s record for Aberdeen against Celtic

Miovski was a fantastic striker for Aberdeen, scoring 44 goals in 98 games for the Pittodrie side across all competitions.

He played seven games against Celtic during his time in Scotland, managing to net three goals. However, six of those matches were defeats for Aberdeen.

All of the goals came in the 2023/24 season, the last coming in the epic Scottish Cup semi-final clash at Hampden when Celtic won 9-8 on penalties.
