It’s a bittersweet moment for Celtic fans as Jota is expected to make a return to the club.
On the one hand, Kyogo Furuhashi is leaving Celtic and it saddens the fans that a legendary figure will no longer don their colours.
Yes, the timing of Kyogo’s exit is strange because it’s midway through the season, but it still doesn’t hide how he is probably the best since Henrik Larsson.
That striker spot at Celtic is now going to be a huge talking point and many will want to know what road Brendan Rodgers goes down.
Both, from who he picks from within his current squad to who the champions of Scotland sign in via the January, and even summer transfer market.
Celtic told of ‘big upside’ to Mathias Kvistgaarden deal as Jota set for return
Mathias Kvistgaarden has been linked with Celtic for a long while now and you sense a door might have opened on the Brondby striker.
There isn’t a better time to bring him in and Andy Walker told Go Radio that the powers that be at Parkhead ‘certainly have the money’ to sign Kvistgaarden.
Craig Moore lauded the rising forward’s talents and how, from many aspects, including financially, there is a ‘big upside’ to bringing him in.

“I don’t think they would have done business unless they had someone to come in and replace him,” said Walker.
“Whether it’s the Danish lad, they are looking at, Kvistgaarden. Whether it’s him or someone else who might come on loan from now until the end of the season. You have got to remember, Celtic have got Champions League games to play in the next phase – I would just be amazed if this transfer window closes and Celtic don’t have some sort of replacement.
“Whether they get that deal done now for (Kvistgaarden). Celtic certainly have the money to secure a deal like that.”
Craig Moore added: “Good numbers and a good player. That’s far smarter. The lad you are talking about from Denmark. Ten goals this season. 17 appearances for Denmark (U21s) at 22. Big upside.”
Kvistgaarden stats this season
Looking at Celtic’s success in the transfer market in recent times, a player like Kvistgaarden and his profile, certainly fits the bill and you can see it working.
Just look at Matt O’Riley’s rise, Nicolas Kuhn’s transformation, the magic Jota brought in his first spell and how Kyogo came in as an unknown player before blossoming into one of the greats.
Kvistgaarden can certainly go down that road if he is brought in, with the versatile forward netting 14 goals so far this season, but he is currently injured.
