Celtic are in the market for a striker this window and know they must now act fast.
Kyogo is already in France to complete his £10million move to Rennes following the Ligue 1 club’s interest in the Japanese international.
The impatient French side moved sharp straight after the striker’s final game against Young Boys in the Champions League to make the move happen and it is now just a medical away from being concluded.
Brendan Rodgers spoke about Kyogo‘s exit yesterday in his presser with Jota now closing in on a Celtic return going the other way from Rennes.
The Hoops boss has always wanted a new frontman while at least one wide player was on Rodgers’ wishlist this January.

Mathias Kvistgaarden is one Celtic option to replace Kyogo
Louie Barry was one target at Aston Villa with a supposed £5m bid for the versatile forward being knocked back.
Unai Emery yesterday confirmed Villa’s plans for Barry and that was not great news for Celts as the Premier League club want him to sign a new deal and then head out on loan.
That could now potentially open the door for a long-term Celtic target in Mathias Kvistgaarden of Brondby.
Celtic have scouted Kvistgaarden this season on numerous occasions as we told you back in November and with Kyogo on his way out the door, that could force the Scottish Premiership giants to move fast for the player.
Frankfurt are also keen on the hitman who has bagged 14 goals and five assists this term from 22 outings and that could make a move more difficult.
And then there is the fee his club want which would set another Celtic record at around £13.5m.
But Kvistgaarden has now directly addressed the speculation linking him with a Parkhead switch as he admitted he’s open to moving and Glasgow could be an option.
What Kvistgaarden said about Celtic interest
Asked about Celtic he told 3 point: “In the end, as a player, I can’t really do anything except do the best I possibly can – whether it’s for one place or another. That’s the way it is.”
Pressed on whether or not he can still focus on his game in Denmark despite the rumours, he added: “Yes, I think I can.
“Of course, there is a lot you can read about and listen to, but I try to ignore it as much as possible and just concentrate on training here every day.”
