Celtic know that a winger will be on their shopping list and Michel-Ange Balikwisha fits the bill.

Nicolas Kuhn’s move to Como is expected to be finalised in the next 24 hours, with Celtic expected to pocket £17m from his sale.

Isak Jansson was linked with the Hoops as a direct replacement for Kuhn but all roads seem to lead to Balikwisha.

The Royal Antwerp winger has been tracked by Celtic for some time and Balikwisha has even teased a move to Celtic Park, which bodes well for any hopes of a transfer.

Michel Ange-Balikwisha available for less than £5m

According to the Daily Record, Celtic could be given the chance to sign their long-term target for less than £5m after Antwerp were forced to reduce their asking price.

Balikwisha almost joined Celtic last season but injury halted the move and he remained in Belgium.

Brendan Rodgers has been busy trimming his squad, getting rid of deadwood he deems surplus to requirements and can use the funds to buy Balikwisha, as well as land a new centre-back and striker.

How Michel Ange-Balikwisha compares to Isak Jansson

There is every chance that Celtic could sign both Balikwisha and Jansson but in the event of it being one or the other, how do they compare?

Jansson played more games and scored nine goals in all competitions due to Balikwisha spending a lengthy time out recovering from injury.

However, Balikwisha nearly registered a goal contribution almost every other game having played far less this season.

Rodgers has wanted the Belgian for some time and with his contract at Antwerp up in 2026, a bargain fee seems to make perfect sense and the 24-year-old could finally pull on the green and white.
